Conference and Symposium Program

The conference is an opportunity to share, learn and network with educators from K-12 and post secondary settings. This year’s conference will include a keynote presentation by Judy Halbert and Linda Kaser, leaders of the Network of Inquiry and Innovation (NOII) with breakout sessions by leaders in assessment from across Canada, including CAfLN founders Lorna Earl, Damian Cooper and Ken O’Connor, as well as other CAfLN members. A special pre-conference day with tours of schools in the Delta School District has been added this year.

Pre-Conference: A Passport to Learning

In either an elementary or secondary strand, travel to three schools in the Delta School District where you will see teachers who have shifted to using assessment for learning in their classrooms and actively use collaborative inquiry to support and develop this shift. Along the way, you'll enjoy a lunch a one of the school sites. Pre-tour coffee and muffins as well as lunch will be provided for those registered for the tours.

The tour will end at Farm Roots (www.deltalearns.ca/farmroots) where we will debrief, enjoy the farm and beach location, then transition to relaxing with refreshments, dinner and a cash bar while enjoying the ignite-styled talks to open the conference.

All conference registrants not participating in the pre-conference tours are welcome to join us at FarmRoots after 3:30 pm for the late day and evening programming.
